Who we are
Nectar Marquees supplies marquee hire across Surrey and West Sussex, working within roughly 30 miles of Horsham. This policy covers the website at nectarmarquees.co.uk and explains what we do with your information.
For anything in this policy, contact us at contact@nectarmarquees.co.uk or on +44 7851 815541.
What we collect
When you ask for a quote. The enquiry form asks for your event date, where it is, how many guests you expect, which marquee interests you, any extras, and how to reach you. We use it only to price your event and reply to you. It is stored in this website’s database and emailed to us, and we keep it for up to two years unless the booking goes ahead, in which case we keep the records for six years because HMRC requires it.
The form also records a one-way scrambled version of your IP address, which we cannot turn back into an IP address. It exists only to stop the same machine flooding us with automated submissions.
When you email or call us. We keep what you tell us so we can quote for the work and carry it out, on the same timescales as above.
When you simply browse. Our web host records standard server logs, including your IP address, for security and troubleshooting. We do not use those logs to identify individuals.
We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing emails.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We use as few as we can.
Cookies we set without asking
One cookie, nectar_consent, records whether you accepted or rejected advertising cookies, so we do not keep asking. It lasts six months and contains nothing but your answer. Under UK rules this kind of strictly necessary cookie does not need consent. Our host may also set short-lived technical cookies needed to serve the site.
Cookies we set only if you say yes
We advertise on Google. If you accept, Google Ads sets cookies that tell us whether an advert led to an enquiry. This is the only non-essential use of cookies on the site. Until you accept, Google’s tag is loaded in a mode that stores nothing on your device and it does not track you.
Google explains how it uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Changing your mind
You can change your choice at any time: open your cookie choices. Rejecting costs you nothing — the site works exactly the same either way. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings.
Who we share it with
Hostinger hosts this website and our email, so our data sits on their servers. Google receives advertising measurement data, but only if you have accepted advertising cookies. Where a booking needs a supplier — heating, bar or lighting, for example — we pass on only what that supplier needs to do the job, such as the date and the address.
We may also share information where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email contact@nectarmarquees.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
